Katie Leaird
Agent: Adriana StimolaKatie Leaird is a formally-trained chef and recipe developer.
After graduating from Brown University, she studied French pastry and earned her professional pastry certificate at Tante Marie’s Cooking School in San Francisco. Years later, she earned her culinary degree from the International Culinary Center (NYC), followed by her Italian Cooking & Wine certificate from ALMA La Scuola Internazionale di Cucina Italiana (Parma, Italy).
She has worked as a chocolatier, wedding-cake maker, and culinary consultant as well as in restaurants both in the US and Italy. She spent five years as a test cook and recipe developer at America’s Test Kitchen where she worked on the magazine staff and developed content for cookbooks, websites, and television shows.
Katie currently lives on Martha’s Vineyard with her two young daughters, Joy and Hazel, her dog, Bucatini, and dozens of chickens and ducks (who are too many to name here). She runs a fresh pasta business and teaches cooking classes. She works as a professional recipe-tester for other food writers as well as regularly contributing original recipes and culinary musings to numerous print and digital food media outlets.
Most recently in the cookbook arena, she collaborated with Julia Blanter on The Martha’s Vineyard Cookbook, Dan Pashman on Anything’s Pastable, and Delish on The How-to Cookbook for Young Foodies.
