“Toddler-Gr 2–On the first page, a tan-skinned girl’s grandmother tells her that girls don’t fart. The rest of the story is a series of weird and hilarious examples in rhyme of how that statement is wrong. The book is filled with lighthearted and whimsical illustrations, using green clouds to represent those farts. The most entertaining visuals are the funny expressions of anyone who has the misfortune of being downwind of one of those gas clouds, whether they be a child, grown-up, cat, dog, chicken, horse, squirrel, fish, skeleton, or snowman. While girls and women dominate this story (at least in the farting department), the book features a diverse cast of characters and is ideal for showing readers that anyone of any age from any place has the potential for doing something embarrassing and silly.

VERDICT: For girls who want to break out of traditional expectations, as well as any kids who love to laugh, this is a great storytime read.”
