Eve
Eliot is the author of “Insatiable: The Compelling Story of Four
Teens, Food and Its Power,” a nominee for the Best Books for Young
Adults 2002 Booklist and for the annual Michigan Library Association’s
Thumbs Up Award. She is also the author of its sequel, “Ravenous:
The Stirring Tale of Teen Love, Loss and Courage” and of “Attention
Shoppers: The Woman’s Guide to Enlightenment Through Shopping.”
This latter book was named one of the Ten Best Spiritual Books of 2004
by Spirituality & Health Magazine. Her article, “Meditation Off the Cushion: Helping Clients with Mindfulness Training” appeared as the featured piece in the journal The Annals of the American Psychotherapy Association in the Winter 2007 edition. Another article entitled “Yoga Off the Mat: Motivating Clients to be Comfortable with Discomfort” will be appearing in their Fall 2007 edition. Eve has made two guest appearances on The Sally Jesse Raphael Show and one appearance on The Jane Pauley Show and has been interviewed over seventy times for both radio and newspapers including the Boston Globe. A sought-after expert in both the field of eating disorders, she has been a consultant to both the Caron Foundation’s ACoA Treatment Week and their Compulsive Eating Treatment Program. Eve has had a private psychotherapy practice for sixteen years and is a teacher of meditation in East Hampton, NY. |
