Elaine Dimopoulos

Elaine is the author of Material Girls (HMH Books for Young Readers), a young adult novel about cultural trends and consumerism that Kirkus Reviews called “sly, subversive fun.”

She has taught writing and children’s literature courses at Boston University and Grub Street. Currently, she teaches at Simmons University in the Writing for Children M.F.A. program and loves supporting students as they walk the steps of their own creative journeys.

Elaine has served as the Associates of the Boston Public Library’s Children’s Writer-in-Residence and was also named a St. Botolph Club Emerging Artist. Her writing has appeared in “Of Looms and Lillies” and “Her Sylvan Ascent,” modern dance compositions by choreographer Jody Weber.

She is a graduate of Yale University (B.A.), Columbia University (M.A.), and Simmons University (M.F.A.). Elaine lives outside Boston with her family.
