Dinah COrley

Dinah is a graduate of London University and holds Grande Diplomes from both the London and Paris Cordon Bleu. She recieved a Certificat Perfectionment in pastry from the Paris Cordon Bleu as well. She also was one of the first women to attend advanced work shops at Gaston LeNotre's School for professional bakers and caterers in Versailles. Dinah has studied with Ann Willan, Richard Olney, Julia Child, James Beard, Simone Beck, Gaston LeNotre, Philip Rojas Lombardi, and many, many others. She assisted Julia Child, Richard Olney, Simone Beck and Gaston LeNotre on various book tours. Dinah was the working apprentice to Simone Beck (co-author with Julia Child of Vols I and II of Mastering the Art of French Cooking) living with Simca and her husband for 3 months every Spring in the South of France.

Her first cooking school opened in 1979 and she toured the country teaching classes. After her school was featured in Bon Appetit magazine she became a contributing editor for the magazine and for The Best of Bon Appetit cookbooks. Dinah also had a 30-minute cooking show on the Tulsa, Oklahoma ABC affiliate. She became food editor of Oklahoma House and Garden Magazine.

In 1986 Dinah married and moved to Washington DC, there she opened Q Street Cooks located in Georgetown. Q Street was a highly successful school, named one of the city's ten best by Washingtonian Magazine, and often featured in the Washington Post.

Dinah is a past board member and officer of the DC chapter of Les Dames D'Escoffier, a highly prestigious association for women who have achieved outstanding success in the food and beverage industries. She was also a founding board member of the DC chapter of American Food and Wine Society.

In 1989, Dinah and her husband purchased a home on Martha’s Vineyard, where she hold cooking classes throughout the summer months. Currently, she is the contributing editor for food features for Vineyard Style Magazine. Her first book, Gourmet Gifting, is forthcoming from Globe Pequot Press.  www.dinahcorleycooks.com
