Born
and raised in Hawaii, with a few non-hula lesson years in California
sandwiched in between, Anne Bustard moved to Texas for college—and
stayed. A former elementary school teacher, co-owner of Toad Hall Children’s
Bookstore, and teacher of wannabe teachers at the University of Texas
at Austin, Anne is now a full-time writer. Her most recent publication
is BUDDY: THE STORY OF BUDDY HOLLY (Simon & Schuster Books for Young
Readers/A Paula Wiseman Book, 2005). Also check out Anneographies, a
blog about Picture Book Biographies, organized by the subjects’
