Barb Rosenstock

Barb Rosenstock loves true stories best. She spent her school years in a rural suburb obsessed with music, theatre and all things vintage while dreaming of winning a Tony or being named Secretary of State.

After a long career in corporate marketing and advertising, she started writing for children while completing a master’s degree in teaching.

She lives near Chicago with her husband, sons and two big poodles who keep her sane (or insane) depending on the day. Playing in the garden, visiting a grade school or finding that one perfect word sends her over the moon.

Her first picture book, Fearless: the Story of Racing Legend Louise Smith (Dutton) was named to the Top Ten of the ALA/Amelia Bloomer Project Book List. Her next book, The Littlest Mountain (KarBen) was selected for The PJ Library. Upcoming projects include: The Camping Trip that Changed America (Dial) with Mordicai Gerstein and William’s Windmill (Knopf).
